The hospitality industry was one of the worst hit during the pandemic, so it’s about time that our city’s foodie folks get together under one roof to re-connect and gather the insights needed to help revive their businesses. After last year’s online-only event, the RC Show is returning for a hybrid show in 2022, combining the best of in-person and virtual. The hospitality event has taken place annually for 77 years at the Toronto Enercare Centre at Exhibition Place, and this year guests will be able to attend three days’ worth of jam-packed programming, featuring the industry’s best and brightest, from May 9–11.
This year, the RC Show will feature world-class programming sessions across six stages, with everything from live demonstrations and workshops to panel discussions and fireside chats with industry leaders. Discussions will cover the most important topics in the industry right now, from labour shortages and the broken food chain to mental health, diversity, equity and inclusion in the workplace. With more than 250 experts and global speakers providing insights, ideas and inspiration — and with a focus on the industry’s revival — you’re sure to find a conversation that hits home at the hospitality event of the year.
The best way to enjoy the event is with an RC Show Flex Pass. This gives guests the flexibility to experience the 250,000 square-foot trade show floor (online, in-person, or a combination of both) and its 700+ brands, innovative products, and the hottest trends. You can tune in for panel discussions online and head to live events that are best enjoyed in person — just make sure you meet the criteria before you register for a ticket (the RC Show is a B2B event for 19+ hospitality professionals only).
There are six inspiring and interactive industry competitions showcasing Canada’s up-and-coming talent, including the RC & Garland Canada Culinary Competition; Beyond the Rail Cocktail Competition; Sommelier Service Competition; National Barista/Canadian Cup Tasters Competition; and Oyster Shucking competition. Plus, the RC Show will see the return of popular mixology and culinary events — grab your tickets and prepare to make some memories with industry pals, old and new.
Also launching at the RC Show is Restaurants Canada’s new 365 Marketplace, an online metaverse that will connect buyers and sellers across the industry all year. The 365 Marketplace is the destination for shopping, education and events with 3D and AR experiences.
In addition to the scheduled competitions and masterclasses, the RC Show presents plenty of business and career-building opportunities for anyone in the hospitality and foodservice industry. Meet industry peers and heroes at the RC Show’s Opening Night Reception, Industry Night Out and Breakfast With Champions, an event that sees innovators and world-class speakers congregate to take a deep dive into insights, trends and pressing subjects over an elevated breakfast experience.
