Whether all your friends are busy or you simply want to spend some time with yourself, there are plenty of things you can do in Toronto, that doesn’t require an entourage. It may be a little intimidating to go out by yourself in a public place if it isn’t something you’re used to doing – but it’s so worth it! Be the main character in your life and give yourself some love and attention by going out and doing one of these activities solo. Who knows, you may just pick up a new interest or hobby!
Here are some things you can do on your own in Toronto.
Visit A Cute Café
Bring a book (or laptop) to a cute local café and sip on a tasty beverage while you read/work! Toronto has no shortage of café options, and you could always check out this article if you’re stumped.
Get a Facial At Formula Fig
Have you gotten a facial at Formula Fig yet? If not you definitely should! We all need a little pampering from time to time and this facial bar provides such a great experience unlike any other to treat yourself. Almost every facial is about 30 minutes too, so it’s not even a huge time commitment. If you aren’t sure which facial to get, we can’t recommend the All-In option enough!
Visit The Bata Shoe Museum
On Sundays, you can visit the Bata Show Museum for free! If you love history and shoes, this is the museum for you. It showcases the history of footwear over 4,500 years through different exhibits.
See A Movie
If you’ve never gone out to see a movie by yourself, it’s something you need to try! You aren’t really allowed to talk during a movie at the theatre anyway, so it’s a great activity to do by yourself. Plus, if there’s a movie you want to see and no one in your life seems to be interested, why should that mean you have to wait for it to come out of theatres?!
Go Out For Dinner
For some reason, going out on a solo dinner seems to be one of the most intimidating things to do. But it’s also one of the most gratifying things to do! Take yourself out on a solo date to dinner to show yourself some extra love.
Participate In A Yoga Class
This is something you can make a part of your regular routine if you end up loving it! Toronto is home to a ton of great Yoga Studios like Moda Yoda, Pure Yoga, and Downward Dog Yoga just to name a few. Sign up for a class to enrich your body and mind!
Visit Allan Gardens
Explore somewhere that feels far far away from Toronto by stepping into Allan Gardens Conservatory! It features an array of colourful plants and flowers from around the world and has 5 greenhouses to walk around in!
Explore The Royal Ontario Museum
Explore the ROM at your own pace by visiting by yourself! So you can truly take your time and explore the exhibits that interest you most.
Walk Along Trail
Toronto has a lot of beautiful trails to walk and explore – when you walk a trail alone though, it’s probably best to choose a location that’s pretty public for safety reasons. Like The Beaches or High Park! Here are all the best trails to walk in Toronto and the GTA if you don’t know where to start.
Go Shopping On Queen West
Go for a stroll on Queen West and visit some shops along the way! The best part about shopping alone is that you are truly only influenced by your own taste. That, and if you can leave whenever you feel like it and don’t have to wait for whoever you’re with to finish shopping (lol).
